**Due to COVID-19, all sessions are currently being conducted using a HIPPA-secure, online Telehealth platform.**

Individual Therapy:  Common areas that are covered in therapy include self-improvement, self-esteem, personal growth, symptom reduction, grief and loss, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, stress, adjustment disorders, learning disorders, ADHD, autism, sensory processing disorder, parenting issues, infertility, and alcohol and drug addictions.  Individual therapy can help improve psychological and emotional functioning, decrease symptoms that cause distress, and provide insight so clients can learn more effective ways of living.

EMDR Therapy:  Typical sessions last 90 minutes and include both talk therapy, as well as eye movement or tactile bilateral stimulation to help move traumatic memories and blocked energy resulting from trauma, PTSD, anxiety, panic, and phobias and reprocessing them in the brain so they become unstuck and allow clients to feel more relaxed and in a peaceful state of mind.

Couples/Marital Therapy:  Common areas that are covered include working to resolve communication difficulties, exploring sexual dissatisfaction and dysfunctions, creating deeper intimacy, dealing with loss or betrayal, negotiating life transitions more easily, gaining better understanding of one’s partner, and resolving conflicts.  The therapist is careful to take an objective, neutral stance and not take sides.  Couples therapy can help educate partners on ways to improve their relationships and have a happier and healthier outlook of each other.  It can also be very beneficial when a couple is facing reproductive difficulties and infertility treatment.

Family Therapy:  Family therapy can help strained relationships, teach new coping skills and improve how your family works together. It helps families or individuals within a family understand and improve the way family members interact with each other and resolve conflicts.  It can involve parents and young children, parents and adult children, siblings, or extended family members.  Family therapy can help with issues such as separation and divorce, abuse, eating disorders, substance abuse, and chronic health issues.

Group Workshops:  Group workshops are offered to provide a therapeutic forum where many people with similar problems can benefit from the interaction and connection of the group.  Additionally, they can gain insight from being psychoeducated on useful and relevant topics, including parenting, infertility, marital enrichment, navigating life transitions, caretaking, and stress management.

Premarital Counseling:  Before you say “I do,” it is important to learn the necessary skills to have a successful and long-lasting marriage.  Using the Prepare-Enrich program, Dr. Vadnais guides the couple in exploring major relationship areas after the couple completes a brief assessment.  Content areas from the assessment are then addressed and Dr. Vadnais facilitates a discussion between the couple based on strength and growth areas, helping the couple learn more effective ways to work through growth areas.  Areas of focus include assertiveness, active listening, conflict resolution, family-of-origin issues, finances and budgeting, and personal/couple goals.  This usually takes between 4-8 sessions.

Life Coaching:  Therapy can help you identify strength areas to help you become both the person and professional you want to be.  It can help identify obstacles that have kept you from reaching your goals thus far, as well as help you learn more about yourself and others.  Coaching can help you find greater personal satisfaction with your life and help you hone skills that can make you more confident and have greater self-esteem.

Guest Speaking Presentation:  Dr. Vadnais is available for public speaking events to discuss various psychological issues, current “hot topics” in psychology, and for psychoeducational purposes.  Topics are varied—please contact Dr. Vadnais for more information.

MFT Supervision:  For those who are training to become licensed MFT’s, Dr. Vadnais can provide you with weekly MFT supervision.  She is in the process of becoming an AAMFT-approved supervisor.

Consultation:  For already licensed MFT’s and Psychologists, Dr. Vadnais can provide consultation on cases to help when you are “stuck” on a difficult case and to give you a fresh perspective in terms of diagnoses, assessment, theoretical models, and therapeutic techniques.

Media Collaboration:  Dr. Vadnais is available for interviews by the media regarding various psychological and marriage and family topics.  She can describe psychological issues in a general layperson’s terms that are easy for the public to understand.  Please contact her for further information on this opportunity.

*Some clinical issues are treated most effectively from a combination of both psychotherapy and medication management.
